All Saints Wives Group

Meets at 8pm on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month in P & J hall. The meetings are sometimes talks from varied speakers, sometimes craft evenings, walks, theatre outings. social evenings etc. We choose a charity each year and have fund raising activities for that charity. We try to offer a wide range of activities and a friendly welcome to anyone wishing to join us. Contact Barbara  on 624412.

Our first fundraising event for the 2009-2010  charity "Step by Step", was a great success raising £207. We had a stall in Fleet's Saturday Market selling homemade cakes, jams and various gift items. So thank you very much to all those who made cakes and supported us in any way. it was a very good start for our charity.

We learnt a great deal more about the work of "Step by Step", our chosen charity for this year when a member of the staff came to talk to us in January. The activities are wide ranging in support of the young people in their care, including finding education opportunities and employment, and specialised programmes to combat alcohol or drug addiction.

On a chilly evening in February we looked forward to Valentine's Day, with "food for love". Members brought along tasty titbits that they had prepared, which we then tasted and swapped recipes. Particularly popular were the strawberries dipped in plain chocolate!

Dates for March:

4 March Magic Circle. History of the Magic Circle with Peter Bentley
18 March Craft Evening. Easter cards.
25 March Fiddler on the Roof. Princes Hall, Aldershot

Our involvement with Praise and Play is again in full swing. If anyone would like to visit one of these sessions please let me know and I will arrange transport. It is great fun and an important part of our outreach to families. Kate Wickenden and Tricia Maguire - both are MU members - supervise these sessions and would be delighted to welcome anyone who wishes to come.
