 Why should I help ?
Financial support of the local church is not just an optional act of generosity, but a crucial and very essential part of being a Christian. Christian financial giving means living up (in tangible ways) to the public statements we make (the creed on Sundays, the baptism promises at Easter or when witnessing a baptism), in fact every time we come together as the Body of Christ.

The apostle Paul journeyed around the Mediterranean founding Christian communities that funded themselves as well as mission activity, resulting in all the local churches that exist today throughout the world. Christians have recognised that were it not for their financial support of their local church and the wider community, the resourcing of ministry would not happen and the Good News of Christ would not be widely proclaimed.
"I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8+9)

 What should I do ?
Our Parish needs predictable, regular income. This is best provided by our Planned Giving Scheme – where we commit to regular giving, ideally by monthly bank standing order, but other options are available. We have around 140 regular donors in Planned Giving.

Since the Funding our Future programme was introduced in May, 15% of these donors have reviewed their level of giving, resulting in a 17.5% increase in Planned Giving.

If you are already in the Planned Giving Scheme, we thank you for your generosity.
If you have not already increased your giving, please will you now consider doing so?
If you are not yet part of the scheme,
will you please consider joining us?

Generous giving should be:

  • a priority
  • prayerful
  • planned
  • proportionate
  • given in community
  •  sacrificial
  • joyfully given
