THIS WEEKS NOTICES

150th ANNIVERSARY OF OUR PARISH CHURCH – 2012 has arrived!! This is a year in which the whole Parish can join together in Celebration and we hope everyone from both our churches, other churches in the town and our whole community will become involved in some way. There will be many and varied events happening throughout the year including a very special flower festival weekend in the middle of June. To find out how you could help with this – not necessarily arranging flowers, but maybe growing some bedding plants – come to a meeting on Monday 6th February at 10.30am in All Saints Church. Please contact Chantelle if you need more information.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES - We are planning to start this year’s confirmation classes (for adults and teenagers) soon, please contact Roy, Andreas or the Parish office if you are interested.

LEPROSY BOXES - Thank you to everyone who gave in Leprosy Boxes before Christmas. They totalled £211 which has been sent to The Leprosy Mission for their work. All donations are welcome. Please see Dee Stephenson at P&J or Kate Dashwood at All Saints and we will give you a box. We collect boxes twice a year, but we are happy to take them earlier if full. We specialise in collecting the change which weighs down your pockets or handbags! Your offerings weighed about 18kg! Thank you once again for your continuing support.

GIFT DAY - The gift day last week donated £446 to the Fleet Town Centre Project. Nigel thanks everyone saying that this is a fantastic sum with which they can certainly make a difference in Fleet.

THE VESTRY MEETING AND ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING (APCM) - The Vestry Meeting will be held on Thursday 26th April 2012 at 7.30pm in All Saints Church, immediately followed by the Annual Parochial Church Meeting. Elections will take place for the Churchwardens at the Vestry Meeting and for Sidespersons & Members of the Parochial Church Council at the APCM. Nomination papers for these elections will be in the church in due course. All persons whose names are entered on the church electoral roll of the parish and all persons resident in the parish whose names are entered on the register of local government electors are entitled to attend and vote for Churchwardens at the Vestry Meeting. Only those whose names appear on the Electoral Roll can hold these positions, or propose or second candidates. Lists for nominations to the PCC will be posted in the churches a few weeks prior to the meeting. Also in preparation for these meetings, the Annual Parish Report has to be prepared. All groups, clubs, teams and committees are invited to submit a report to Cath West, cjcewest@btinternet.com, by Friday 2nd March.

PANTO DONATION - Following the success of the pantomime, Mother Goose, we have been able to send a donation of £1,000 to Wessex Children’s Hospice Trust (Naomi House). Many thanks to all involved.

PHYLLIS TUCKWELL 11th February – Hampshire Constabulary Band Concert. This is a military style band established for over 110 years and is currently led by Capt. Pete Curtis.
